WIDE FAR-VISION

A comfortable & wide far-visual field is the result of an ergonomic human eye analysis: The limit of the static vision field angle is 15°. This equates to an area of 30mm around the eye point of a lens and equals the real vision field for natural far vision. This new and extraordinary Sereno design pushes aberrations in this area to the outer sides of the lens as much as possible, making Sereno perfect for today’s digital lifestyle, without compromising on far vision.

WIDE INTERMEDIATE-VISION FIELD

This new design also creates a wide intermediate vision field in comparison to a conventional progressive lens.

Due to the aberrations being pushed towards the outer sides of the lens in distance vision, this means it will also have an effect on the intermediate vision. Again, this area is opened out and a wider area is available, which allows for easier adaptation in the Sereno design for our busy digital lives.

The photo to the right shows the increases intermediate field of vision compared with a conventional progressive lens.

WIDE NEAR-VISION FIELD

Thanks to the square design, we are now able to obtain a wide near vision area. Moreover, by adapting the inset according to the appropriate parameters and by optimising the front curve to each eye, the vision field is even more comfortable than before.

A wider field of vision at near is possible due to the 'square' design pushing the aberrations of the lens towards the outer edges. Moreover, by adapting the inset of the reading circle, according to the appropriate parameters, and by optimising the front curvature of the lens for each eye, the field of vision is even wider and more comfortable.

Tokai’s premium ‘square design’ progressive lens – The main benefit of this design is wide intermediate and reading (perfect for today’s digital lifestyle) without the visual constraint of narrow distance vision. Sereno has it all! Comfortable, panoramic far vision is achieved by ergonomic human eye analysis – Aberrations are pushed outside of the limited static visual field of 30 degrees around the eye point of the lens. Tokai will determine the most appropriate front curve taking into account the balance between left and right.
